Hey guys,

I installed VS 2003 presumably along with the MSDN package.
Apparently it was only about 400 MB, so i assume it wasn't the "Full"
installation. So whenever I was in the VS, and i'd do a search (for
example: FormsAuthentication), it would show me the search results.
When i'd click any of the results, it would demand me pop in the MSDN
DVD.

I desired to get around that so today i installed the April 2004 MSDN
library, in "FULL" mode. it takes up almost 2GB on my computer.
Anyhow, i ran the same search as above, and the same problem occurred.
Mind you i tried to navigate to the MSDN/Apr2004/1033 folder to no
avail; the VS demands a DVD to be placed in.

Any ideas on how to fix this??

Thanks

Haider,
You should make sure the original MSDN is unistalled or within VS goto
Help - Help on Help and navigate to "Visual Studio .Net Combined Help
Collection Manager" VSCC and select the MSDN library you would like to use.

Good Luck

Hi Guys,

I'm new here, and i've got pretty much the same problem

I've got VS .NET 2003 along with the MSDN for VS .NET 2003. I used to have MSDN 2001, but I removed it and that's when my troubled started. The help wouldn't work at all, I keep getting 'This page cannot be displayed' and the error is 'Cannot find server or DNS Error Internet Explorer', so finally I re-installed MSDN for VS.NET 2003 and i still keep getting the same problem. Even clicking on 'Help on Help' was coming up with the same error. I've now just un-installed help for the nth time and when I click on help, my dynamic help window has one item in it 'Installing Help for Visual Studio' for once it's telling me the right thing, but lo and behold if I click on it...I get the same ridiculous error, I'm on my wits end, so I hope somebody out there have any sugguestions, for now, I will re-install help, I know it's not gonna fix the problem, but what the heck, I gotta try something.
