Hi. I'm a really confused about how all of the online documentation
integrates for Visual Studio .NET. I installed the Visual Studio .NET 2005
beta 2. I thought I had set it up to install help at the same time but maybe
I hadn't. What I tried to use Help (F1) within VS.NET 2005 b2, I basically
got no content. I even tried to turn on Online access so that even if the
stuff wasn't available from disk, it could get it online but that didn't work
either.

So I installed MSDN Library which is also supposed to integrate with VS. But
it doesn't seem to.

So what am I doing wrong? Does Beta 2 of VS 2005 have NO SUPPORT for
integrated help???

Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2 has the integration of the MSDN library, but the
corresponding MSDN library edition is MSDN Library for Visual Studio 2005.
You need to install it for your Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2 product
installation package. It appears you hadn't installed it when you install
the VS 2005 Beta 2.

Thanks!

But I'm confused: Does this REPLACE the MSDN library I've installed already?
Is the 2005 version as up-to-date as the MSDN Library version?

No, the MSDN Library for Visual Studio 2005 will not replace the MSDN
library you installed before, they can be installed side by side in the
same machine. But the Visual Studio 2005 only recognizes the version of
MSDN Library for Visual Studio 2005.

The MSDN Library for Visual Studio 2005 is not up-to-date as the latest
MSDN Library version, it is just up-to-date with the corresponding version
of the Visual Studio 2005 product.

Thanks!
